A day of harmonious happenings here at CLC…

What a joyous start to Session Three we’ve had today!  This morning at Sunday School we discussed this week’s CS lesson on Truth, followed by an hour dedicated to marking our CS books (a habit many of the summer-long campers have really come to enjoy).  Afterwards, campers returned to their cabins for Stand-by Kapers, an opportunity to learn about the different jobs necessary for cleaning our cabins, as well as for cabin bonding.

After lunch, campers returned once again to their cabins for Rest Hour to relax for a bit before heading to the outdoor stage at the game field for the Activity Fair.  We have so many fun and engaging classes being offered this session (more on this to come later this week)!  Dinner was a delicious picnic supper on the game field, with tacos and churros.

This evening is the first Council Fire of the session.  Just before 8:00 PM, the drum began slowly beating, signalling boys’ and girls’ camps that it was time to begin the silent walk towards the Council Fire circle.  Anticipation filled the air as campers walked single-file in the direction of what is sure to be an exciting battle of the clans; for some campers this will be their first time at Council Fire, having been given their clan assignments just this afternoon.  Right now, the glorious sound of clan cheers flies across the lake to girls’ camp and echoes its way up to boys’ camp.

Tomorrow is the first full day of Session Three classes and the Barn Dance in the evening!
